Jeju Macieju
Jeju Macieju is a joke page at jejumacieju.pl, in the same spirit as Jajco. A hand-drawn face reacts to clicks: the eyes pop out on springs, the jaw drops, the hair stands on end, and the reaction grows with every further click. A counter shows how many people have already been surprised.

The Challenge
A page you send to friends has to make them laugh in the first second, before anyone clicks it, and look good already in the link preview in a messenger. The animations were meant to be over the top like a comic, yet smooth on a weak phone and gentle for people who turned motion off in their system.
Our Solution
A face drawn in SVG, with separate animations for the eyes on springs, the jaw, mouth, brows, hair and sweat
A reaction that grows with every quick click and fades when you stop clicking
Shouts drawn without repeats, a speech bubble that fits the screen width and a rain of exclamation marks
The face reacts on its own every few seconds, so the page is alive without any clicks
A calm version for people who reduce motion in their system settings
A PHP counter with a file lock and its own image for link previews
