A free project quote: a website, store, app or system

Describe what you want to build and you will get a quote with the scope of work: what it covers, what it does not, the stages and how payments are spread. We usually reply within the hour.

How we quote
A quote for a company website with a blog in the client panel: payment stages, the validity, the items and the team's notes
The enquiry form on the VulCode website on a phone: project type, budget, timeline and project description

From a message to a quote

The quote is free and commits you to nothing. A contract only exists once you accept it.

  • QuoteScope of work, exclusions, stages, timing and price in writing
  • StartThe schedule and the first decisions
  1. Project description

You VulCode. We usually reply within the hour.

  2. A written quote

VulCode You. Free, with what it covers and what it does not.

  3. The order

You VulCode. The contract is made when the order is confirmed or the advance is paid (terms, clause 3.1).

What to write in your request

The more of these points you cover, the fewer questions you get before the quote. None is mandatory.

Subject
Quote: an online store
  1. Goal
Sell online what we sell today over the phone and on Instagram.
What should change in the business once the project is done.
  2. Scope
Online payments, courier shipping and a panel for orders and products.
The key features, for example payments, shipping, an admin panel.
  3. Integrations
A marketplace and the invoicing app we already use.
Systems to connect with: ERP, marketplaces, invoicing, couriers.
  4. What you have
A logo, product photos and the domain. No hosting yet.
A current site, logo, content, domain, hosting.
  5. Timing
Before the holiday season, because that is when we sell the most.
When it should be live, and why then.
  6. Budget
We have a range for the first stage and want the store selling within it.
If you have a range, say so. It helps fit the scope.

What we quote

We quote every service individually, for the scope you describe. There are no figures from a price list and no ranges, because one service name covers very different projects.

A figure for your scope

We calculate it for what we write down after your message and our questions, not for the service name.

No ranges

A site with ten pages and one with a thousand share the same service name, but not the same price.

Extra cost only with consent

A change of scope needs both sides' consent, so you never learn about an extra charge after the fact.

The questions we ask before quoting

The price depends on these answers. Each one you put in your request is one question fewer before the quote.

  1. How many pages or screens, and in how many languages?

    Why we ask

Every unique layout is separate design and development work, and every language version means translations, addresses and search settings.

    Changes: Scope of work

  2. Which systems should the project connect to?

    Why we ask

Payments, couriers, ERP or e-invoicing: every connection to someone else's system means work and testing on their environment.

    Changes: Scope of work

  3. What do you want to edit yourself, without a developer?

    Why we ask

Editing content, orders or users needs a back office the client never sees but someone has to build.

    Changes: Scope of work

  4. What do you already have: a domain, hosting, content?

    Why we ask

What you do not have either goes into the quote or onto the list of what the quote does not cover.

Changes: What the quote does not cover

  5. Do you have a design, or do we make one from scratch?

    Why we ask

Design from scratch is done with the Aphrodi agency and is a stage of its own. A ready design we build.

    Changes: Stages and timing

  6. When should it be live?

    Why we ask

A short deadline means moving other work. We say so in the quote, before promising anything.

    Changes: Stages and timing

  7. Do you have a budget range?

    Why we ask

It helps fit the scope: what to build in the first stage and what later.

    Changes: Price
