Banner and shield designer

A white banner with a blue cross and a red border

A white banner with a cross and a border

The example layers built into a command and drawn as in the tool's preview, in the game's dye colours. The result is computed by the same function the tool at the top of the page uses, every time the page is shown.

You design

Base
White
Layer 1
Cross, blue
Layer 2
Border, red

The item

id
minecraft:white_banner
What the tool does

The banner's base colour is part of the item ID. A shield has one ID and keeps the colour separately.

Layers

banner_patterns
banner_patterns=[{pattern:"minecraft:straight_cross",color:"blue"},{pattern:"minecraft:border",color:"red"}]
What the tool does

Layers go in the order they are applied. Both patterns are made in a loom without a banner pattern item.

Command

The tool's preview
/give @p minecraft:white_banner[banner_patterns=[{pattern:"minecraft:straight_cross",color:"blue"},{pattern:"minecraft:border",color:"red"}]] 1
