RimShot

RimShot is a humour platform where content fights in pairs, and an Elo ranking in every category tells what is really funny. On a computer, RimShot is above all a place to work: for creators who keep their material on disk and for the moderators who run the report queue and the categories.

Two pieces of content from the same category stand side by side at full size, and the funnier one is picked with one click. The all-time and official rankings of every category are one click away.

PNG, JPEG and WebP images, gifs and short text jokes are uploaded straight from the disk, with a daily limit per account. The content goes into the chosen category and starts fighting in duels right away, and new content gets more of them so it quickly finds its place in the ranking.

Votes are limited, nobody can vote for their own content, and every vote is stored with the point change of both pieces and a hash of the IP address instead of the address itself. The official ranking loses 20 percent of its points every day, so an old hit does not hold first place for years.
