VulCode

Discord community manager at VulCode: announcements, channels and moderation

We are looking for someone to take over our Discord server: tidy up channels and roles, post announcements, keep order and talk to the community while the team is busy in the code.

The VulCode Discord server on a phone: channels for information, announcements, hiring and chat
: the VulCode Discord server you will run

The bots you work with

We write Discord bots ourselves, and on the server you work with moderation bots. The sample screens show what their messages look like.

  • A ticket channel on Discord with the bot's message and the close button

    Questions in tickets

You answer simple questions yourself and pass technical ones to the team with context.

  • A moderation channel on Discord with the bot's log of actions

    Moderation with a bot

Spam and inappropriate content, with every action written in the log.

  • A list of roles given on a Discord server

    Roles and permissions

Who sees what and where they ask, set up with roles.

Your tasks

What you will work on day to day. We fit the scope to the time you have.

Discord Community Manager
Discord is where somebody asks about VulCode for the first time. Somebody should be there.

Order on the server

  • Channels and roles
  • Moderation

A clear server structure: who sees what, where to ask, where the announcements are. Server rules, handling spam and inappropriate content, working with moderation bots.

Announcements and questions

  • Announcements
  • First line of questions

New blog posts, tech news, releases of our products and hiring. Answering simple questions and passing technical ones to the team with full context.

Community life

  • Events and activity
  • Collecting feedback

Ideas to keep the server alive when there is nothing to announce. What people say about our products and website, gathered in one place for the team.

What this role is about

Who is on the server

Our server brings together clients, people interested in our open source projects and people who found us through games and bots. We build custom Discord bots, so our own server should run flawlessly.

The host of the server

Your role is to be the host: announce new posts and releases, answer simple questions, pass harder ones to the team and make sure a newcomer knows straight away where everything is.

A newcomer's path on the server

Each step is a place where someone can get lost or decide to stay. Your job is the second.

2We read it

The application goes straight to the person you will work with, with no HR department in between.

3An online call

A short call in Polish or English about what you do and how you see the role.

4We agree on the scope

How much time, which tasks to start with and how we settle up, before you begin.

Probably not if

You do not enjoy chatting with people you do not know. You only want to configure bots technically. You have no time to check the server regularly.
