A law firm website that follows Polish bar rules

Practice areas as separate pages, expert articles that bring clients from search, and a form through which clients send documents securely. We write the content within the rules on informing about legal practice in the Polish codes of ethics.

Rules on informing about practice a website must follow

Polish advocates (adwokaci) and legal advisers (radcowie prawni) have their own codes of ethics. Every piece of content passes through these rules before we publish it. The codes are quoted in their Polish original, the only binding wording. Written from the point of view of the website builder. This is not legal advice.

Code of Ethics for Advocates, consolidated text
Presidium of the NRA resolution 403/2023
The text on the Zielona Góra bar council site (PDF)
  1. § 23(3) Advocates: no comparisons, ratings or promised results

    Code of Ethics for Advocates

    Polish original: Informacja handlowa nie może uchybiać zasadom etyki lub godności zawodu, w szczególności adwokata obowiązuje zakaz posługiwania się informacją handlową: (…) e) porównawczą, nierzetelną, podstępną, nieprawdziwą, natarczywą lub niestosowną; f) stwarzającą choćby prawdopodobieństwo wywołania nieuzasadnionego oczekiwania co do wyników świadczonej pomocy prawnej; (…) h) zawierającą treści ocenne;

In plain words: An advocate's website does not compare them with other lawyers, does not rate their work and does not suggest how a matter will end. The design has no place for such content.

  2. § 23(4) Advocates: client reviews only with documented consent

    Code of Ethics for Advocates

In plain words: A review or a mention of a client's matter can go on the website when the client knows where and in what form it appears and has agreed in writing, electronically or in a document.

  3. § 23b(1) and (2) Advocates: fees allowed, but unambiguous

    Code of Ethics for Advocates

Polish original: 1.

In plain words: An advocate may show fees and how they are calculated. Next to every fee the website says plainly whether it includes expenses, taxes and other charges.

  4. art. 31(4) Legal advisers: clearly labelled information

Code of Ethics for Legal Advisers

In plain words: A legal adviser's website says plainly that it is information about their practice. On the sample firm website a bar above the menu does that.

  5. art. 32(2) Legal advisers: reviews with consent, not in every matter

Code of Ethics for Legal Advisers

In plain words: A legal adviser's client reviews and recommendations appear only with the clients' consent and never for criminal, fiscal criminal, petty offence, family and guardianship matters.

Client documents without email to a general address

Client documents are confidential from the first second.

The first step of the consultation form: practice area, how to talk, the other party for the conflict check and one sentence about the matter
1. Matter and contact

Practice area, a short description and files, with no sensitive data in the text.

The second step of the form: three documents going into encrypted storage, visible only to the assigned lawyer
2. Documents

Clients send documents through an encrypted form, not by email to a general address.

  • A short-lived link and encryption

The file goes straight into encrypted storage through a link valid for minutes, not through a mailbox.

  • Only the assigned lawyer sees it

Access to the files belongs to the lawyer assigned to the enquiry, not the whole team.

  • Deleted when there is no case

If the firm does not take the case, the files are deleted after an agreed time. More on our security page.

An enquiry from client to reply

Four steps in which the firm never loses control of confidential data.

The firm's enquiry panel: enquiry Z-2026-0148 on employment law, its progress in four steps, the parties with no links, the encrypted documents and the access log
  1. Form and documents · Client

Practice area, a short description and files, with no sensitive data in the text.

  2. Assignment · Firm

The enquiry goes to a lawyer in that practice area.

  3. Conflict check · Lawyer

Checking the parties before the lawyer opens the documents.

  4. Reply · Client

A call or email, and a confirmation with only the enquiry number.
