Do changes apply without a restart?

No. The server reads server.properties at start, so it needs a restart after a change.

What does view-distance do?

It sets how many chunks around a player the server sends. Higher means a longer view, but also more memory and CPU.

Does what I type go anywhere?

No. The tool computes everything in the browser and sends nothing.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The tool runs in the browser, so opening the page is enough.

Does the tool remember what I type?
